PENIS CANCER

Penile cancer is visible as a growth or discoloration on the glans or foreskin, which does not disappear. This doesn't always have to hurt. At a more advanced stage, hardening can even be felt in the groin. This is a rare urological malignancy requiring highly specialized care. Depending on the extent, treatment will consist of a circumcision or removal of the lesion on the glans. In very extensive cases, the penis must sometimes be (partially) amputated, sometimes reconstruction can be made. Depending on the microscopic examination and whether or not indurations in the groin are palpable, it is sometimes necessary to remove the inguinal or pelvic glands.
