Doctor Frederiek D’Hondt graduated in 2008 from the School of Medicine at the University of Ghent, Belgium. In July 2014, he completed his urologic residency (trained in Urology at the OLV-Clinic in Aalst and at the Urology Department of the Ghent University). In 2014, he did a clinical fellowship in robotic surgery for prostate and bladder cancer at Karolinska University, Stockholm, Sweden. Since January 2015, he is a full staff member at the Urological Department of the O.L.V.-Clinic in Aalst, Belgium. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) since 2014. His major interests are urological oncology and minimal invasive and robotic surgery. He is involved as a trainer for robotic surgery at the ORSI Academy and has proctored the start-up of several robotic centers all over Europe He is involved as Principal- and/or Sub- Investigator in numerous clinical trials on Prostate/Bladder/Kidney Cancer. He has participated in many publications, and given many lectures on robotic surgery in Urology.

Dokter Frederiek D’Hondt studeerde in 2008 af aan de School of Medicine van de Universiteit Gent, België. In juli 2014 voltooide hij zijn urologische residentie (opleiding urologie aan de OLV-Kliniek te Aalst en aan de afdeling Urologie van de Universiteit Gent).
In 2014 deed hij een klinische fellowship in robotchirurgie voor prostaat- en blaaskanker aan de Karolinska University, Stockholm, Zweden.
Sinds januari 2015 is hij vast staflid op de Urologische Dienst van de O.L.V.-Kliniek in Aalst, België.
Sinds 2014 is hij Fellow van de European Board of Urology (FEBU).
Zijn grootste interesses zijn urologische oncologie en minimaal invasieve en robotchirurgie.
Hij is betrokken als trainer voor robotchirurgie aan de ORSI Academy en heeft de opstart van verschillende robotcentra in heel Europa begeleid.
Hij is als hoofd- en / of subonderzoeker betrokken bij tal van klinische onderzoeken naar prostaat- / blaas- / nierkanker.
Hij heeft deelgenomen aan vele publicaties en heeft veel lezingen gegeven over robotchirurgie in de urologie.
